I didn't expect much of that, especially for the price. However, I noticed a drop in the operating temperature of almost 7 degrees when turning it on and off (at least according to the device's built-in temperature sensor). I doubt it has anything to do with mod tech, and has more to do with the fact that the Switch's stock fan is very anemic and orders of magnitude more efficient. But anything that works minimizes thermal throttling. This even worked with my suitcase, although I had to remove some of the foam from the support tab because it was too tight between the suitcase and the dock. There was no performance gain from reduced gas, but a running cooler only extends the life of the product, so for $10 it's not bad.
