Review on πŸ”” BELL Qualifier DLX Full-Face Helmet: Matte Titanium/Black Rally Small - High-Performance Safety Gear by Fred Massingill

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for me)! on Protective Gear

Got the helmet [Yellow Hi-Vzs, XXL, 35mm ear/side pads]. I used a "1/2 helmet" and decided to upgrade to a "full helmet" for more protection. I have never used a full face helmet and was looking for a helmet that "meets" my criteria: 1) Fit/Comfort - This criterion must not be compromised. Not too tight, but not too loose either. 2) Hi-Viz Yellow I only found a few solid shades of yellow. The yellow DLX ABS case exceeds expectations.3) DOT and ECE certified. Couldn't find another full face, yellow with DOT and ECE.4) Field of view is "good" [enough for me] but I prefer more, like the TORC T-1 Retro [no yellow].5) Ventilation Ventilation is excellent. Could not be better. The driver can control 4 vents. 6) Weight [?] 3.34 lbs. (on Revzilla). Three body sizes. This weight may apply to a "medium" suitcase. Includes "expensive" Transitions shield - works great. Check out Revain [and elsewhere] for more DLX features. Sizing wise, I have the 2XL [the largest of the three shells] with 35mm earcups and side pads. This place was too tight. 30mm [$19.99] ordered and installed. It did. Fits perfectly. ********** Intercom is not required and is not required. Too bad the DLX was delivered without one. I prefer to drive without being distracted by incoming voices/noises. The 3XL [with 30mm spacers] was not sold when I received the 2XL [with 35mm]. This DLX couldn't be better just to remove the "hole" of the intercom. I'll fill it with 3/16" or 1/4" felt padding to reduce airflow (and therefore noise). In summary, the DLX "would have looked better" with just a Bell logo on the front and no logo on the sides.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not bad but...
