Stronger and unlikely to break

This is better quality than other rescue blankets I've seen. It's a bit thicker, which I can attest is extremely important if you plan to rely on it in windy weather. The only time I've ever used an emergency blanket was while hiking the Ray Lakes Loop in the Sierras. My hiking partner and I shared some of our gear. He took the tent and I took the stove and the food. We parted, and he spent the night hungry, and I spent mine homeless. I had one of those standard emergency blankets that you put in your backpack and forget. It was raining, then hail, and when the wind picked up, my blanket was torn in two. It was useless. I have not tested this rescue blanket in similar conditions and hopefully never will, but you can tell by how this blanket feels in your hands that it is durable.
