I've been trying to make my Sportster more like a chopper for a long time and for some reason this was my first stop, I'm still new to riding and motorcycles. Given the brand's popularity, it's actually surprising how difficult it is to find accessories for anything pre-2004. So I wrote to my mechanic and asked if I should buy this lady bridge or should I wait until something is actually /made/ for my bike (Harley Sportster 1999) and he said "take it easy, we'll make it fit". Curious, take it out of the box and line it up where my previous sissy bar was just for crap and gigs. Literally a dead ringer. Fits so perfectly that I didn't have to adjust, move or adjust anything. And the installation is very easy. So I just bolted it on using a Ryubi and an adjustable wrench where the inside of the wing area fits snugly. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no pre-drilled holes in the pillow. This has advantages and disadvantages (strength - minus). But at least you have the freedom to choose where to mount the pad (assuming you have the power tools to make those holes on the fly). I'm very happy with that considering the price. I'm quite a tall girl (5ft 6in and not skinny at all) and I sat and leaned against him and I feel safe. Of course, you just want to make sure you're good with screws and bolts.
