Let me get that straight. Anyone buying online should read the product description and use common sense when planning a tank. This product is exactly as described, perfect. I clamped mine well above the waterline. It works so well that I took my avocado tree (which was struggling outside due to the cold) and put it in the light. Also look out for the revived fern. I put tons of carpet seeds in the aquarium when setting it up, most of them died off after a few days. But after using this light you will see that it is green. Now I have to keep a snail in every aquarium because of algae growth. Sprouted all my seeds (mostly bonsai). People who give that one star are just selling their product and writing bad reviews to get it removed/flagged. Leads to further false information on the Internet. For anyone with a factory error, just install a new one. Nothing will ever be perfect. Check out your dimensions, do your research and boom - you've got the tank you want.
