I used the 'free' thermal gloves that came with my curling iron - not knowing it there are different types and qualities. The loose ones were a mesh of sorts, meaning they were thin and tight (like on my fingertips), the holes in the mesh were open enough that my nails would burn if they touched the curling iron while holding my hair, and then I have a melted burn mark on my nail polish for the duration of this manicure. It's nice to note that these gloves are vastly superior to the free ones, nice dense fabric rather than mesh - and nails don't melt at the tips.
