If your car has a factory HID, stick with the HID.

I have a 2005 G35 sedan with Spec-D Halo projector headlights. I have a factory HID for bass and H1 for high beam. The LED D2 (LA D2) Kit seems to be real, cool packaging and all necessary components for plug and play. To use this kit you must exclude the HID ballast and cables. Pretty basic, but for my application I had to splice a few wires to make this kit work. I also bought new D2R HID bulbs to compare to see if the LASFIT kit is brighter than the factory HID. I'm telling you, if your car came with HID from the factory, stay with HID. LASFIT D2 LED kit was no brighter than HID. Using a light meter and moving the car 108 inches from the wall, I registered 1806 lux for the LED kit and 2680 for the HID. I will say that the LED kit has a wider pattern than the HID which helped to see the roadsides better at night which is what I need when driving in the countryside. Overall the kit is good and a great upgrade from halogens but if your car has a factory HID then stick with the HID. I will be driving tonight and taking some pictures of the LASFIT D2 LED kit installed along with the LASFIT H1 LED kit for my high beam.

Pros
  • Easy installation
