The wooden floor split more than a dozen times. Seemingly startled as we get up and jump. Since our TV lacks buttons on the TV itself to turn it on and change channels, it can be a big problem if the remote lands badly and falls apart once in a couple of times. I decided to buy a backup before realizing I had to unplug the TV to turn it off. This one is perfect. Worked as soon as I put the batteries in and has all the features of the original --- except for the loose parts the original has now when you shake it caused by its many cracks on the wooden floor. Very happy with the purchase. I noticed that Revain also sells a silicone case for this remote. Seems like a brilliant idea that I could invest well in as I suspect my remote won't be the only one catapulted through the air onto a hard surface when it shouldn't.
