The material is VERY THIN. The sun rays penetrate right through. This screen Gazebo stays sunny and is NOT shaded inside it. It is supposed to be UV protectant But I do NOT know how. We put it up when it was sunny and around 85 degrees outside (early June). I had to keep on my sunglasses so I did not squint my eyes from the light. It got warm inside this Screen Gazebo within minutes. It is like being in a tent while it is hot outside. That is the best way for me to describe it. I live in Texas and it gets 100+ degrees in July and August (sometimes even in September). This Screen Gazebo would not keep me shaded and cool.
