turn off my outdoor water pumps. I was tired of carrying a screwdriver and the terminal blocks were rusty so I gave these a try. Firstly, as far as "water resistance" goes, yes. I left them connected and submerged in a bowl of water for 24 hours - there was no water in it. But I find the performance of these connectors unacceptable. The reason seems to be using 20AWG wire. I see a voltage drop from 10.8 to 10.4 when I run 5 amps through them. And of course they get very hot and the voltage drops much more. I don't want to use them in the car. Some have suggested using it for lighting - I'd say one socket per 18 watts, maybe not more. Think about where all that heat is going. I'm giving them a low rating because this list says nothing about the amperage they can handle. And in response to a question in March 2016, the seller claims that 10 AWG wire is ridiculous. If you need perfectly watertight connectors for light loads, then these will do the trick. I'm going to try some "spring terminal block connectors" and try to protect them from the rain. In the image uploaded they are shown next to the 20 gauge speaker wire. Update: The seller responded to me promptly and refunded my money before I had a chance to comment. I didn't need a refund, at least not a full one as I'm still using them. They also immediately removed the misleading question/answer. I say however if you are interested in using them for more than 18w leds ask the seller what wire gauge they are - looks like they had a bad batch in mid 2016.
