Hakko products are always good. This works very well with my FX-901 cordless soldering iron. First, a few words about the FX-901. For years I have used a butane iron when situations called for a cordless iron. About a year ago I tried another cordless iron that runs on 3 AA batteries and was very disappointed that it couldn't even heat medium sized joints. So I was skeptical when I first tried the FX-901 which uses 4 AA batteries and of course Hakko. The FX-901 doesn't replace a powerful power iron for all types of soldering jobs, but it does work surprisingly well for most small to medium sized connections. better than the old butane iron and much more convenient. The pencil tip that comes with the FX-901 is good for general use. But this chisel tip is great for large flat pins like many hanging connectors, switches, etc. Very often the trick with soldering isn't to increase the power, it's just to put the power you have into the connection. The chisel tip has a large surface area, allowing it to better transfer the available force to the joint when space permits. Therefore, this is a good addition to your FX-901 set.
