They were perfect. . . for some time! It charged well and glowed for several hours at night despite the cloudy Michigan winter days. We were so happy with the lights! The colors are beautiful, all the neighbors loved it. Unfortunately one block stopped loading after a few months, now the other block won't load. We've covered the solar panels with clear shells in extremely wet/snowy conditions to give them a little more protection, although the solar panels (and lights) need to be weatherproof. At least these cute lights cheered up our bedridden parents during the holiday season and most of winter. We have purchased several additional sets that have not yet been used. We tested them and they shine - they will be delivered next year. We encourage you to consider these solar charging lights as disposable items. If you buy, try to get them at a very low price as they may not last more than two or three months. UPDATE: 08/05/2017 We are very happy that a strand suddenly worked again in early May. Everything was fixed when the solar system was moved and the light has been flashing for three months now. I suspect the cable has come loose. Carefully moved another strand, but so far no reaction. If your headlights don't work, try wiggling the wires gently - it might help.
