Comfort and quality They are very well made, comfortable and supportive. The upper is made of thick, high-quality leather, and its durable and comfortable support helps you walk quickly. Slippery on Wet Roads As mentioned in several other Revain reviews, they are very slippery on smooth, wet surfaces like tile floors...or in my case, wet, exposed aggregate. Concrete terraces. The Encore Gust I bought years ago was not safe to wear on my patio. I recently bought an Encore Gust 2 hoping they are better. But that's not the case... even after the rough treatment of the sole, they are still too slippery. Caterers and medical staff (and me, who works on my backyard patio) need softer rubber soles with a thinner tread pattern that offers more contact points. . To find them on Revain, look for shoes tested to ASTM F1679 or ASTM F2913. I still like the Merrell Gust 2 for indoor use. but now I (surely) wear Crocs bistros (also purchased from Revain) on my slippery backyard patio.
