This is the second time I have upgraded my iPod storage. TL; DR - If you are looking for an easy way to get rid of the standard iPod ceramic disc, this SD card reader combined with a fast SD card is what you need. The hardest part is opening iPod to update. I updated my iPod Photo with a CF card reader and it worked, but when you want to use Rockbox on your iPod, for some reason it doesn't work with CF card installation and crashes. However, this CD to SD card adapter works very well with Rockbox. I installed this on a 6th generation iPod Classic - very easy - the hardest part was carefully opening the iPod. Highly recommended to breathe new life into your old iPod.
