Review on Bostitch Antimicrobial Manual Sharpener MPS1 BLK by Wendy Rodriguez

I searched embarrassingly and had to read 50 reviews before finally deciding on this one. My problem is Prismacolors, which seem to be the most fragile of all 'professional' brands - they have all the structural integrity of that 10 year old birthday candle clipped to the back of a kitchen drawer - but they have the best color palette., and it is the only brand that art supply stores sell separately so I had to find a sharpener they wouldn't ruin. I've tried every hand sharpener from the art store, electric (battery operated). It worked fine for a few months, then blocked and died, then 4 packs from the dollar store that worked just as well as you would expect. I started reading reviews of old school models like this one and realized that this is probably the way to go. If possible, fix it with screws. I used a clamp to attach it to my desk because I don't want to make permanent holes, but it's not ideal. It slips, so you often have to tighten it. (I cut a small square out of this rubbery, non-slip material and put it underneath, which helps.) Either way, it fucking sharpens all my pencils! Any brand, size, texture, all sanded to the deadly edge. Crazy how well that works. Here's a colored pencil tip (no pun intended!): Sharpen 1 hard pencil (2, 2B, H, etc.) for every 4-5 colored pencils to keep it running smoothly. It's *very* durable. I've had mine for about a year now and use it 1-2 days a week, but it's made for kids so it can probably take *a lot* more abuse. As for "antimicrobial," I agree with the guy who claimed the marketers were probably drunk when they called it. It's also a good workout if you're doing multiple pencils at the same time - perhaps this should also be called "healthy heart". ;)
