Review on Sigma 60Mm F2 8 Silver Micro by Wiktor Skowroski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

I had and have a lot of different lenses for both Sony and Canon. I shoot on crop and ff. There were other systems. In short, there is something to compare. There was sigma 30 / 2.8 and 30 / 1.4 - in general, I am a photodro. Er :) And yes, I look at the pictures pixel by pixel (with the exception of helios), because I buy photographic equipment to get the maximum quality, otherwise take off the phone. This lens is flawless. Yes, I would like a stub, but I would like 1.4. But it’s other money to take at least 56 / 1.4 - on the secondary it’s about 28K and it’s also without a stub. And with a stub, you can take Sonya 50, but terribly lame at 1,8 and then cover up to 2,8 :) In general, there is no ideal in life - but there is savings - this sigma, due to the low aperture ratio, weeds out photo maniacs and bokely lovers, so any whoever wants can afford a top picture for a penny, which will not burden either a wallet or a photo bag!

Pros
  • - excellent sharpness across the field, starting from f2.8. At 3.5-4, it is generally impeccable from edge to edge. Further - only to spoil. Those who like pixel-by-pixel sharpness - this is your option. Stock photography, landscape, subject. very good for a studio - with NEX-6 or a3000/a3500, perhaps the best kit for a leisurely studio for ridiculous money. None of the clients will ever see the difference with A7 + 85 / 1.8. Only autofocus is inferior, of course. With a6000 and above, it’s already generally fire in PM both in autofocus and in a 24mp matrix, which the lens “resolves” with ease, I think the new 30mp sonicrop will also calmly pull. - a very pleasant contrast, I don’t know how to explain and what to connect with, but it is this series (30 / 2.8 and 60 / 2.8) that has a very pleasant picture in terms of contrast and volume (almost like on ff)) - low level of aberrations, distortions, vignetting, even in open mode. Slightly cover up and generally ideal. - resale price in 2022 I took it for 7500, I think this is adequate, because for 12-13 you can already buy SEL5018OSS - there are advantages and disadvantages, but still it is faster and with a stub. - the lens hood is small, just such that it would slightly protect the lens from contact with the bag, so you can wear it without a cover. (for example, I sawed off the Sony hood, because there was still no sense from it, but it took up space in the bag). the standard 16-50 also fits into the lens hood, so you can wear one in the other (it also doesn’t reach the lens). - design. Everyone hates its sleekness, but in my opinion it's a great minimalistic design. attaching a corrugated elastic band is not a problem at all, who needs it. - bokeh. Good unobtrusive Sigma bokeh. Not artistic, like a helios, but completely adequate and usable, in a minute it is blurred in Photoshop to "type 1,8" or "type 1,4" :) You need to understand that on a 60mm bokeh it's still much more noticeable, with the same aperture than 30mm or 16mm. - size and weight are fully consistent with the concept of mirrorless.
Cons
  • - missing MF / AF switch on the body - something dangles inside when it is not connected - it does not affect anything, but it scares - takes a little cold tone - the filter thread is not very running (46) I ordered an adapter for Ali - I put a magnifying glass filter to reduce the MDF and get "almost a macro". The margin of sharpness of the lens is such that the lens does not spoil it very much. But you still need to order macro rings, I think, due to sharpness, you should get an excellent macro lens. True, how he will show himself at f10-16 - xs. I will add later))
