Cosmetic flaws? PLEASE. Opened and rewired by an eight year old

Soldering iron is so-so. Instead of the real emblem that the old ones have, a plastic emblem is glued on. It was (or NOT) fixed by an 8 year old who worked at an Amazon repair shop. There must have been a cosmetic issue (outside) that I could see. but when i wanted to use it the switch got stuck. Then it will work, not work while I twisted it. The light didn't work. I found one of them was loose, tightened it and it started to work. then stopped. then started again. As I was looking at it when I received it but Covid has distracted everyone (including me). It has not been used to this day. But he looked okay. The back window is gone. So I opened it and found the following questions.1. The cable was not in the strain relief channel.2. A wire of cord was placed between the two sides where it was clamped with a screw. It just caught the plastic wire wrap and was used after I moved the cable.3. The light does not work reliably. I found the schematic for this and found that it only has 2 wired taps from a transformer feeding 2 lightbulbs in series. 300W = more light. 200 watts = less light. But the bulb I found loose, the socket it screwed into was so carelessly made that I had to twist the bulb tight with two fingers for it to rotate far enough to make proper contact and work. I had to really tighten it to make it work.4. The switch was REALLY BAD. although it worked. The trigger dangles where it moves within the switch. Usually he tuned in. It just wouldn't turn off sometimes when it was on. I sprayed some liquid teflon into the switch assembly and used it (the switch) about 300-400 times. It finally smoothed out. ALL SOLDER JOINTS WITHIN THIS SOLDERING IRON ARE A LARGE BLOCK OF SOLDER THAT COVERED THE JOINT BUT SOMEWHERE MAGICALLY DID NOT FALL DOWN AND OVER THE TERMINAL!. I've been soldering since I was 13 (1965) and have soldered about 5000 soldering points during this time. I would be totally hilarious if someone saw the pathetic soldering work that was done. It was cold soldering and/or no flux. After all these repairs everything is working fine now. I just feel sorry for the person who didn't know how to open and fix that soldering iron with its "cosmetic imperfections". They would throw it in the trash again, Revain Refurbished and/used and/refurbished. MUST be fully verified. The repair you receive will make or break your purchase, and keep that in mind. Around the same time, I bought a "certified refurbished" Ryobi saw from Amazon, and when I started using it, I found that the blade bearing (which holds the blade while turning) was badly worn. It was impossible to cut a straight line with it and I had to buy a part from Ryobi to fix it. When I did it worked fine, but this part cost me $45 shipping and 2 months to buy from Ryobi. Now everything is good. But"Let the buyer beware!"
