the sponge is just right to hold firmly but not damage the temples of glasses, sunglasses. The only downside is when I slide the visor all the way forward it only goes as far as the clip on the windshield. That's not a problem for me, but depending on the type of visor you have it might be something to think about. I'm on the passenger side so rarely have problems. Need more than one? Well the latch can wear out after a while but it just seems like an individual issue, I have one that I've been using for 3 years with no problems.
