Review on ☕ Mixpresso 9-Cup Stovetop Espresso Coffee Maker, Moka Coffee Pot with Percolator Design, Stainless Steel Italian Coffee Maker by Pavan Cormier

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works great with a little care, but NOT STAINLESS STEEL

CONS: Upper chamber difficult to clean Learning curve for screwing and unscrewing the top from below (tips below) Needs to be heated at lower temperatures. I use Medium Low NOT STAINLESS STEEL! If this is important to you, this will not work with your induction hob. Magnets will not stick to this product which is incorrectly labeled as stainless steel. After a few weeks of use and careful consideration, I've lowered the star count to three, which I think reflects my dissatisfaction with the company lying about the materials it's made of and my fear of WHAT? is it from what, considering it's made in China, with its track record of product safety (dismal) which I'm really, really worried about. Pros: I think this kettle makes a little more coffee than aluminum kettles of the same size. I have the 9 cup option and had to add some coffee when filling the lower chamber up to the outlet valve, but I prefer more coffee, although I have to heat it at lower temperatures so the base doesn't discolour. (Obviously. I haven't come across this myself, but I've taken note of some other low-star reviews.) It seems to heat up as quickly or even faster than the aluminum I've always used at high heat. dripping. WARNINGS: As I noted above, it's probably better to heat this at a lower temperature: medium or low. With ALL moka pots it is very important not to use the handle when unscrewing/unscrewing the base from the top chamber as the handles of ALL moka pots are weak points. I build this block more than most, but since I haven't yet, I don't expect any problems on that front. The hardest part about the pot is the learning curve of screwing/unscrewing the base into the top chamber. I don't know if they're all the same, but there's a 'best place' where you line up the spout with the outlet valve, where it sits perfectly on the bottom chamber's threads and screws right in with no issues. I nearly pulled my hair out trying to figure it out. Also, don't over-tighten this knot like I did with my aluminum knots. This makes unscrewing without a handle much more difficult and is not necessary. Although the filter and ring at the bottom of the upper chamber fell out the first time, I believe they eventually expanded to fill the gaps very quickly and did not leak. Simply pull the two halves together until you meet resistance and stop. I don't know if the "gold spot" on your pot will be in the same place, I would suggest paying attention to where the spout is in relation to the steam release valve on the bottom before using it for the first time unscrew and try to put it back into the same configuration when you are ready to reassemble it.
