Can't shoot enough to clean

The only other HVLP gun I've tried before was the HF Purple gun so admittedly I'm new to paint spraying. My use is for spraying latex and primer onto household items (trims, doors, furniture, etc.). The purple gun does not spray latex well, even with the fluid nozzle modified and the paint diluted. I thought the TCP pistol was worth trying as it had a 2.5 tip and reviewers had success with thick stock. This week's project was to spray primer and latex onto a stained mantel. I used 40psi, no filter, fluid adjustment knob fully retracted. and thinned Sherwin Willams primer and paint with 15% Floetrol Flood. I applied 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of top coat. My project was a success and I am pleased with the smooth finish. The gun worked well and I would recommend it as a suitable option for thick paint. Also, this gun comes with a significant amount of lube, so it's best to clean it before use. The problem I'm having is that I can't unscrew and remove the fluid nozzle connection to clean the inside sufficiently. It comes with a wrench and hex tool to remove the connection, but good luck loosening it. The first one removed the key, so I called TCP and spoke to someone from tech support. I've been told that I don't need to remove the hinge to clean the gun. I asked what size hex would fit because 9mm or 10mm wouldn't fit and they had no idea. An unacceptable answer for me, and since I like the weapon I replaced it with Revain. Less than 24 hours later, Revane ships a new weapon (good job, Revane). This one had more grease in it, so I took it apart for a thorough cleaning. Guess what... the joint is bolted on by the Hulk himself and can't get it out. Key removed immediately. So disappointing. I'm sending it back. The gun works well and for $50 it's a great value, especially if you're okay with "good enough" cleaning. I'm more careful with my things. I don't consider it a disposable pistol and if properly cleaned after use it definitely shouldn't be. After this post I will email TCP and see if they offer any support/suggestions. I would like them to loosen the nozzle connection before shipping so we can disassemble and degrease it. It would also be nice if the connection was a standard size hex, but I doubt that will change.
