Love the finishing look, but need more to cover rough floor

This is my first time working with epoxy coating for garage floor. The total process time is longer than I thought, but overall is very good experience and learn a lot. When I do my other garage it will be must faster!I use this Rocksoild 1 car kit for my 210 sq ft one car garage, the garage is 60 years old concrete with very rough surface. The description says good for 200 to 250 sq ft coverage. Initially I thought is good enough. But after I did many research online, and found many have say…

Pros
  • ‎Oil
Cons
  • May not provide a non-slip surface

I watched a lot of you tube vids and read lots of reviews before using the Rocksolid garage floor coating kit on my garage floor. Very helpful! I purchased 2 kits based on sq. footage coverage estimates for my floor. Coverage was way better than I expected and I could have done it with 1 kit. First coat dried with "mixed" color results and I could see the old cement through the new coating in some places. Second coat was almost perfect, but I "rerolled" some spots and when dry, I could see some

Pros
  • ‎Liquid
Cons
  • May be prone to chipping or peeling over time

Great Product, but do they have to skimp on quantity?

This is a great product that works as advertised. Be sure to check on the internet for video instructions on applications.HOWEVER, and this is why I deducted one star, they really need to increase the supplied quantity by at least 15% - 20% beyond what they recommend for coverage. I used this for a small, one car garage floor and used the Rustoleum Primer. I literally was at the last couple of square feet when I ran out, and had squeeze the remaining amount from the roller. Had I not used the…

Worked great. Make sure to fill cracks first.

Overall great product. Ran into a few issues that I want to share. The instructions make it sound like this product will dry as soon as you lay it down. I found that I didn't really need to rush it. Applied in 90 degree heat.Pretty much impossible to throw the flakes over your head and keep them 9 inches away from the edge. I did my best but kept a yard blower handy to push any flakes back from the unpainted to painted section as I applied. Also difficult to do was get the nonskid sand to apply…

Good coverage if you know what you are doing

A lot of people are complaint about the coverage. We have found the coverage to be very accurate. We have painted over 10,000 square feet of various rooms. Most recently we have been getting 650 square feet per kit. We pour about a three inch wide line (puddle) of paint about two feet from the edge and initially spread that puddle to be about 12 to 15 inches wide by going back and forth down the line, then roller perpendicular to the line to connect it to the wet edge. We make sure to roll the…

Tip; Don’t follow the directions!

The mfr’s of all these DIY kits want the instructions to seem easy and not too expensive so they tell you that you don’t need to rent a floor grinder and you don’t need to use primer. False! EVERY pro grinds their floors and uses primer (Rustoleum Concrete & Garage Recoat Primer in this case) because you HAVE TO no matter what the DIY kits say. I spent a little extra to do my garage floor the right way (grinding, priming, and using 5-minute epoxy to fill cracks) and my floor turned out…

Great Product, better customer service

I ordered this. The product itself is great I have no complaint. Mine did come with the wrong type and color of epoxy in the box. I didn’t know it was wrong until I opened it. But when I contacted the seller, they were so helpful and took great care of me and reimbursed the entire mistake. All they required was a photo of the defective product. They took great care of me.

Pros
  • Durable, polycuramine concrete coating works on interior concrete surfaces including garage floors, workshops, basements, family rooms and more
Cons
  • May not adhere well to older, porous concrete

Good product good for me

Good product. Prep work was toughest part since I chose to grind the the floor rather than etch it. Definitely have to work fast rolling the product since it gets sticky about 45 min into it. Looks good. Dries in about 8-10 hours

Pros
  • Paints & Primers
Cons
  • Difficult to remove once applied
