Laptop stand alternative for keyboard players

I've recently started using the Mainstage as my main setup for live performances. I needed something that would allow me to have my laptop close by so I wouldn't have to strain my eyes to see the screen, and something that would allow me to have my laptop within reach when making adjustments had to. I purchased the following three (3) items to achieve what I need. So far I am very satisfied, to say the least. Purchased components: /product/B00BT7EA18/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010QZD6I6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for the RockJam Pro laptop is maximum height from 40.5 inches to the bottom of the laptop. This uses the RevainBasics laptop stand mount instead of the stand that came with the RockJam. The RevainBasics laptop stand is made of thick steel and is very durable. I didn't like the included RockJam tray. He was too weak and I didn't trust him. The computer (MacBook Pro 2017) stands very stable at the maximum height and is not afraid of tipping over. My favorite part is the Pro Signal dual mount pole mount. The clamp is designed to mount to a minimum 1-3/8 inch diameter rod. The RockJam telescopic pole has an outer diameter of 1 inch. Too small for a double bar mounted on the bar. So I used industrial grade heat shrink tubing that has a resin built into it to keep water and moisture out (shrink tubing for electrical applications). I applied two (2) layers of this heat shrink tubing and the pole mount clip fits very snugly and holds its position without slipping. Hope this helps someone!

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Something different
