Review on Carna4 Handcrafted Chicken Dog Food - 6-Pound Bag by Fred Boals

I ordered this food after much research to find the best food for my 10 year old Shih Tzu. When I bought the first bag and replaced it with an earlier brand, there was a noticeable positive change in energy levels and coat texture. I was so happy. About a month later I ordered a second bag, I noticed it was a bit darker but thought nothing of it. 2 days after she started feeding her from a new bag she became very ill - she wouldn't eat or drink, she was too weak to stand or walk and her temperature was 104! After she was taken to the 24-hour veterinary clinic, they did a blood test, but the results were inconclusive. She had to be fed boiled chicken and rice for a week. And she had bloody stools for several days while she was recovering. Examining their granules carefully, I found several rather large black flakes of something I couldn't identify. I really wanted this brand to be as amazing as they claim to be. But whether it's major quality control issues or other issues, I definitely don't trust him with my dogs' health. And unfortunately they do not allow returns. I am extremely disappointed.
