This bench is much sturdier than you might expect. It can easily support a person's weight, although upon viewing it almost looks like it's more of a decoration. I decided to attach just one of the shelves from below instead of two. It gets very crowded on two shelves to put any shoes on it. So I just put the bottom one in and I think the bench looks a lot better. Much more space for anything you want to put on it. Overall this is a really nice bench that ended up matching all my other furniture even more perfectly.
