Great fans with one caveat

F14 PWM PST COL Review Let me say upfront that I really like Arctic, I've used 3x F12 (no Silent series) in a HTPC I bought before a Year built, they work 100% and are good quiet fans. So when it FINALLY came time to upgrade my old X58/1366 system, I knew I wanted to go back to the arctic for my hull fans. LED fans are not interesting for me personally. However, I wanted the fans to look good and be reasonably priced, that wasn't a problem for me. So I bought 4 of them. Sometimes pictures can be deceiving, it is worth noting that the color is true. Noise is a bit subjective, I don't know what you think is too loud, but for me they are quiet enough. I use 4 in a Corsair Air 740, 2 running at low RPM and 2 running at 100%. You will be heard, yes. but the stock Corsair fans were much louder. They are comparable to my old Prolimitech Blue Vortex 140s (one of the best fans I've ever made). The cables are about 12 inches long (I didn't measure) and they can be spliced together, which is great. I bought a fan hub and extensions because I wasn't sure I would need them. After all, I didn't need more. I have 2 sets of 2 on separate connectors coming from my motherboard. Presumably the headers are good for 1 amp and these fans are rated for 0.3. Better check before you overdo the fan headers. I only have 1 complaint about them out of 4 I've bought. 1 of them with multicolored wire and no sticker on the back. The wire is one thing because it's hidden, but the sticker confuses me. On the back of one or another fan there is the Arctic logo and another inscription on the plastic, the sticker didn't fall off, it's just designed that way. It's just a different version of the same fan, impossible to tell from the packaging. I guess that's not a problem, but in an air-cooled arrangement it is. Especially with a large window it is disappointing. Overall I would still recommend these, they are nice looking silent fans that won't break the bank.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Fragile
