With its early start loaded with bright colors and a seemingly unmatched aggressive profile, the Speedcross changed the landscape of trail running with subtle things like a fast lacing system and confidence-inspiring counter grip, as well as an overall last and feel. For many, speedcross took beginners to advanced, aggressive trails, descents, and longer runs in less-than-ideal forest trail conditions. Not only is this true, but it has become one of the most recognizable shoes in the Steeplechase world. Many other shoe manufacturers began copying Salomon's aggressive and tacky treads and speed lacing systems. Take this durable foundation of a forgiving running shoe, combine it with a Kevlar and knit upper, and you've got the Cross Pro. Everything that has changed in speedcross is taken to the next level and to the extreme with the Cross Pro. The tread profile is even more generous than before, thanks to years of broken lugs, the Cross Pro treads are shorter and stronger. While you can still lose the spike, it's less likely than in Speedcross. The knitted Kevlar upper transforms the Cross Pro from a shoe into an extension of your body. The fit is great, you won't lose this shoe even in deep mud if you tighten the quick lacing system properly. After many runs, the upper held up almost like new. The wear and tear of these running shoes and what makes you switch to new shoes is the treads. Don't walk the city streets in these shoes, but if you must, be careful. You will destroy your protectors incredibly quickly and also get a lot of compliments. The Cross Pro is the most attractive trail running shoe I have ever seen. All in all, these are my favorite running shoes now. I have decided to just cover the cost and when they are back in stock I will buy many pairs. Long live the newest trail boss Salomon Cross Pro!
