It was just fun! It's actually hard, I thought it would be pretty easy, but definitely not for younger kids. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the maze is actually made up of different levels inside the box. You have to turn it upside down and make slight movements to make the ball go through certain rows and so on. I took them for my nephews. One of my nephews is in high school and the other is in high school. The one in high school opened up and the one in junior high couldn't, his mom couldn't and in the end I gave up and gave it to my brother to try and he got it lol. I later borrowed it from him to see if I could solve it and eventually I did. However, it was fun and exciting for those who love puzzles. I used cash instead of a gift card and it worked. I just folded it up so it was about the same size as a gift card. It was a little thicker, but the box was still open when the maze was solved. They are also reusable which is great for the gift recipient.
