Review on LabTech Seating LT43873 Height Polyurethane by Ricky Bedell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits perfectly on my workbench

This chair replaces an old, used fixed height stool that I use for my workbench. It has served its purpose for decades before I even own it. It had no backrest or wheels to move it. However, it was quite comfortable and built like a tank, and I just felt uncomfortable replacing it. However, this stool has found a new home in my garage where it will see much use in the future. I've searched fairly diligently for a suitable replacement. I always read reviews when I buy anything from Revain but I took a chance with this chair as there were no reviews when I bought it. However, there are many positive reviews for other LabTech chairs. What I liked about this chair was that it seemed like the perfect combination of comfort and durability for my workshop. Seat and backrest are made of very hard-wearing polyurethane. It does, but not by much. My old chair had an upholstered base and had a few tears in it, so I didn't want a chair with an upholstered seat. Needless to say, it's very comfortable. It's a bit slippery but I think that's just because it's new. It's just uncomfortable to sit on the edge of the seat. Almost all construction parts are made of metal and are very durable. In addition, the backrest and seat are adjustable. You can move the seat back up and down and the base forward and back. To adjust, you need to loosen the large knob and adjust the seat, then tighten. I wish it was a little easier. This should allow you to find the right fit. This particular model is the "small" version. My desktop is about 32.5 inches high. At full height, the base of the chair is about 4 inches from the bottom of the bench. That's a lot closer than I need. I thought about getting a mid-height chair, but I'm glad I didn't. Even with this chair fully lowered, you can work on a workbench the way a watchmaker works on a clock. After taking all the parts out of the box, it took me 5 minutes to assemble everything. There is a single sheet of instructions. There aren't many details, but it was pretty easy to figure out. I would say it was packaged fairly well although I could hear the parts moving around in the box. Luckily that's not a problem for me. Advantages - Very well made - Comfortable - Robust for my application (workshop) - Adjustable - Easy assembly. The seat is a bit slippery but I think that's because it's new. Overall I am very happy with this chair. I think for quality it's a big deal. I have no hesitation in recommending this chair for the same use case.
