It's hard to find a decent touchscreen media player at this price point. I am giving this to my dad for his birthday to replace his old Meizu M6 mini player. Played with it for a few hours and I think it will be perfect for him. (I've always set up their electronics to work instantly with anything in their house or vehicles.) After four hours of use with the screen on, the battery was around 68% most of the time. It has many useful features. including calculator, voice recorder (slightly better than phone quality) and FM radio. I think that's the part my father would like most. I was able to connect to my Bluetooth speaker for MP3 playback and it worked great from across the room. Communication was lost if I went more than 20 feet away. The games were standard a decade ago and work well on this device. I doubt my dad will ever get involved with them, but I remember he loves Tetris and Sudoku. HahaEqualizer works fine but doesn't have any additional settings to tweak. I found "rock" best for most genres. I also used my own headphones when testing as I know how things should sound with them. It does the job! The headphones that come with the kit are pretty standard. Nothing special. About the same as in the phone. The screen is decent for its size, but I wouldn't consider it for playing full movies or long videos. 720p video is fine with no lag or dropouts. Sensitivity is okay even without a protective film. Decent brightness, even in sunlight. It reminds me a lot of an old Android phone. It is obviously well optimized for the hardware and runs very fast. I only had about ten seconds of freezing when accessing my memory card with about 28GB of music on it. After the download I had no further problems. While it's not in the same league (in terms of apps, hardware, or connectivity) as the iPod, it would be a viable alternative for the elderly who don't really need fancy stuff, or for a child's first MP3 player. Actually my kids or dad would love it. No problem for the price and fully justifies the 5 stars. If it were compared to other more expensive players, the rating would definitely change. This is NOT an iPod. Completely different playing field. This is not a dedicated hi-fi with a DAC. It compares really well to other similarly priced devices I've had and does incredibly well. It's a feature-packed little touchscreen media player that really does what it says on the tin.
