Very handy for use in locations on your surge protectors where the use of more and more 12 volt transformers these days can effectively turn a 12 outlet surge protector into a 7 or fewer outlet due to size small transformers and of course how many of these devices you connect to them. It's impossible not to lose at least one socket, if not two, because they overlap some of the others. Those little 12V transformers don't usually carry much load, so there's no harm in plugging two of them into the same socket on your surge protector I guess. The quality of these socket extenders/splitters is somewhat typical of the cheap Chinese plastic you find these days but I think they will get the job done for a reasonable amount of time before showing any signs of wear and drying out.
