Review on πŸ’ͺ Ultimate Support for Women: Metal-Supported Knee Brace Delivers Unmatched Relief by Hector Liamsi

Great for the money depending on your needs

I got these braces after seeing a previous review from someone with EDS. I need knee pads for a similar condition and don't have the budget to pay for more expensive braces, usually over $150 each. I needed something that could keep me from doing more damage during the day, which would at least last long enough for me to be able to afford the more expensive option. This bracket definitely does the job. If you're looking at this brace because you need support and stability for your joint while you move, note that it doesn't look like a compression brace and doesn't offer flexion resistance. The orthosis is freely movable and you can bend your knee very easily. If that's not what you're looking for, this brace probably isn't for you and you need to consider options for more support. However, if your problem is lateral slipping or overextension, this brace works quite well. Contrary to several previous reviews mentioned in previous reviews, both of my suspenders closed in the front and the hinges fitted my knee well. Even if it weren't, the hinges are easy to remove to fold it over, which also seems handy for cleaning. While the inside of the brace is definitely too big to attach tightly enough, the Velcro straps on the outside attach easily enough with a snug fit that works with no wrinkles on the bottom. This brace completely prevents my knee from hyperextending without restricting my range of motion. Due to the simple construction of the orthosis and the shape of my leg, there is an area where the orthosis can become uncomfortable on my lower leg. The bottom of the piece of metal can exert pressure due to the shape of my foot. Also, I have to remind myself to be careful as the hinges don't sit flat on the knee, meaning I'm prone to snagging on things if I'm not careful. The day I got my second braces, I almost passed out from the braces snagging on each other. Since then I've learned to run better in it without causing these problems. These aren't the highest quality braces, but for $20 you get what you pay for and in a pinch, the job gets the job done. It has relieved me of pain and greatly improved my ability to function, especially when my joints go bad in the cold. They're not ideal, but they're fine if you need something cheap that gets the job done.
