Broken on second use for stoner

When I used this cherry stoner for the first time, I really liked it. I've come across several brands over the years, some better built than others but all eventually fail. It has a great design, feels comfortable in the hand, low grip force, minimal juice splash. The pit distance accuracy is the highest I've used (however, this broke the second time I used it, so my sample size, which gave 100% pit distance, isn't large enough to brag about). So, on the heels of those biting words. This thing broke the second time I used it after pitting maybe 30 cherries. The pin that dips into the hole cherry was misaligned when I got it as you can see in one of my pictures so it was constantly hanging on the edge it was sinking into and couldn't sink into it smoothly. Cherry. I had to nudge the pin to get it centered enough to get to the cherry - a major impediment to the smooth use of this jig. I hope my pitter is not standard for this brand. I'm nervous about trying another one because I'm tired of substituting cherry pits. I'll update if I ever find the dream pitcher.
