This is exactly what I wanted and expected. I have used several similar materials in the past. I've recently gotten old enough to need glasses for driving, and I wanted to be able to throw them recklessly on the dashboard. This bizarre material looks like the skin of an alien monster. The glasses stay right where I put them, but it takes a little patience to get them back up. It's as if the pad has grabbed what it's touching and you need to schedule a gentle squeeze for 1-2 seconds. It survived on our car's dashboard in a very hot summer area and performed great after 9 months. Using a very sharp new blade, cut it onto softwood card stock or paper backing, allowing your blade to go all the way through the material.
