Review on Hammered Steel 8-Tier Enclume Pot Rack - Free Standing & Unassembled! by Roger Weinmunson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice finished product, but HORRIBLE assembly process!

Firstly, once assembled this product is really nice! But it’s getting there that warrants the 3 stars! The item arrived neatly packaged with each shelf labeled accordingly. The instructions are pretty clear, and it’s best to read through them thoroughly before commencing assembly. This is absolutely a two person job!Once all the items were laid out and accounted for, it was pretty straightforward to attach the lowest and highest shelving brackets as instructed, respectively. However, as the additional shelves were added, it became apparent that some of the brackets weren’t sized correctly. It got to a point where we (two adult men) were both having to squeeze the stand rods together in order to properly align the brackets. What’s more, the brackets for shelf three were all different sizes, and thus couldn’t be installed! After some creative tweaking, we managed to assemble to unit. It’s important to note that it’s best to loosely tighten the hex screws when installing the brackets to ensure flexibility with the entire unit as additional shelves are added. Once the entire piece is assembled, then go through and tighten them all.We purchased the alder wood discs/trivets to complete the look, and honestly I couldn’t imagine not having them. Not only do the trivets add a finishing touch, but they also alleviate my concern of the metal brackets scraping the bottom of the pots/pans over the years. In hindsight, I think it’s well worth the extra money to purchase the assembled rack, not only out of convenience, but more importantly to avoid having pieces which absolutely do not fit.
