I bought this for my spare indoor/outdoor cat. The straps are very soft for comfort, he seemed to appreciate that and they had velcro and plastic buckles which I thought were great for security. It was a very tight fit on my surviving cat (I thought he couldn't breathe for even a minute) and he quickly got used to the harness before trying it out. A few minutes after the cat put it on the street, he escaped the safety harness, and I threw a tantrum, kids, that the cat is free now. I quickly recalled my son's face when he told me he had found our other cat's decapitated head in the park, so I quickly took action and crawled through the neighbors' bushes to convince the cat that he was there had to come back me. He didn't care what I said, but the wet food helped him get close enough to grab and bring him back inside. If there is an important reason why your cat needs to get used to the indoor cat now, only this is not the solution. You will come out of it.
