I've been using motion sensor lights in my closet for a few years now but the type I have is no longer for sale. When I needed another light, I jumped out. They are much brighter than the old lamps and the motion sensor works differently. Ancient Lanterns (Ivation) sense movement and burn for exactly 30 seconds. When I'm undecided, the light goes out. Wave your arms to turn on the light for another 30 seconds! These lights stay on as long as there is movement and then turn off after 10-15 seconds, so you don't have to wave your hands. They are also much brighter and give a more even light (thanks to 4 batteries). The sticky magnetic strip is great and makes installation easy. The downside is that the light is perpendicular to the surface and cannot be steered. I will update if I encounter any problems.
