Good results so far

I recently bought this dehydrator and have not decided yet if I should buy this brand of Excalibur which should be the best. Nesco, a cheaper version, is less than half the price. After reading some reviews I decided to invest in this product because in a few years I didn't want to buy another one as the engine runs for over 12 hours straight. , depending on what you want to dehydrate. I also went for 5 timer trays (instead of 9 non-timer trays) as that was another $100 more and the reviews said the timer was pretty useful. A mesh dehydrator, which was a nice surprise as I hadn't read anything about it, was included. So far I'm not sure if it was a good investment as only time will tell how long it lasts. The timer is really very useful. I can set a timer without worrying about over drying.2. Other reviews have complained about noise and I also think it can be quite loud due to the front panel vibration. If there were a better way to attach the front cover, this noise could probably be reduced, but it's not unbearable.3. So far I've dried blueberries, strawberries, mangoes, bananas, peaches, apples. My blueberries have never dried out and I recommend piercing them before attempting to dry them as this may disrupt the process. The other dries well, although I find the texture rubbery rather than crunchy. I'm not sure if that should happen as I prefer crispy ones. Basically I am satisfied with the product.
