The bulb is made of good materials; it feels solid. I used it in a downlight that can be rotated to direct the light in the desired direction. The lamp goes well with the lamp, so you can not say that it is a special lamp. It turns on instantly with no noticeable flicker or lag and is quite bright. I have the 3000K version so the light it emits looks relatively warm. I've only had the bulb for a week so can't comment on long-term performance yet, but judging by the amount I've used it's not an issue.
