I bought this unit just over 7 months ago. It was my first welder and I knew nothing. as they say after about 7 million youtube videos and about twenty pounds of cable i still don't know but i'm getting there. It took quite a long time, but in the end I realized that most of the problems I had with this device were within me. the settings were entered incorrectly, I had no idea how to properly prepare the weld, I had no idea how to weld the weld. Other than that, this car absolutely has problems. I have a feeling the wire drive motor sometimes has issues when used at higher amp settings, it stutters. It's an air conditioner that's not perfect, there's a lot of spatter and it doesn't sound as "smooth" as I expected. but it's very cheap, so that's it. the ground clamp was pathetic and as soon as I replaced it I noticed a noticeable increase in performance. the wire (for me) was absolute junk. just 100% useless in my experience. The face mask was so obviously useless that even a newbie like me knew it had to be thrown on the rubbish heap. All in all, as a cheap introduction to welding or something for small jobs, I find this welder to be just the thing. but don't let that fool you into believing that there isn't a learning curve, because there definitely is. Just because it's a simplified machine doesn't mean the welding itself is simplified, there's still a lot to learn to get the most out of it.
