Not recommended for Litter Robot or odor sensitive households

About my cats: 1 neutered cat (10 years old), 2 neutered cats (8 years old and 10 years old). They all agree when it comes to food, bedding, environment, etc. Boys usually get stuffy noses every summer (they always go to the vet about it), and one of them is allergic to wheat, so we can't use wheat filler. We've tried almost every type of natural filler that didn't contain wheat. We bought the Robotic Litter 3 (LR3) and had to give up the world's best kitty litter (red) because it was too dusty and made the boys' breathing problems worse. So now we're looking for a new pen. Pros + light weight + cheap Cons - very dusty - doesn't clump well. My 8 year old cat hated this litter and wouldn't let us sleep. He went to LR3, stuck his head in, then started meowing and wouldn't stop. As I said, he usually goes along with throw changes, so you don't just have to give him time in this case. I don't like the smell either, so I don't blame him for protesting. This is the first time we've tried flavored filler, mainly because I didn't realize it was flavored when I bought it, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. It also doesn't stick to the bottom of the LR3 that well. In fact, when I tried to clean it to go back to the unscented filler, I had to scrape clumps off the bottom, and that filler left an oddly sticky residue even though I vacuumed it up first. I had to clean it for almost an hour to make it feel halfway normal. Aside from my kitty not going to be using it the main reason we are not giving him more time is because it is very dusty and I don't want anyone to have trouble breathing. I've attached a photo of my black cat covered in dust from this litter.
