Great rig for DSLR video

This review is written from an amateur photographer's point of view. I bought this rig about two months ago so I've used it quite a bit and am confident. to this rating. I use this setup with a DSLR and have everything in the world attached to it. This system has its pros and cons, but the pros outweigh the cons. There were no reviews when I bought this system so it was great play but I am very happy with the results. PROS: The rig is very well built considering its price. Everything is made of metal, foam or rubber, no plastic. The rig is highly configurable and since these are standard 15mm bars, you can switch bars at will. I use my rig in an over the shoulder configuration and it works well for me. The foam shoulder rest is adequate, not great, but I like the way it attaches to the bars. and can slide up and down for comfort CONS: No setup is perfect. decent, but they themselves unscrewed from the bars several times. There is slight play on one of the handles, but not enough to remove the star. Shipping to the US takes longer than we would like. So if you plan on getting this, make sure you don't need it any time soon. Order this device one month in advance. I don't know what to do with the counterweight plate, nothing seems to be screwed there as it doesn't have the standard screw mounts or clearance holes. I took it off and installed a V-mount battery plate. I think you could tie a load to it if you like. He really needs a counterbalance. Conclusion: If you need a rig for video production, this is a great rig for the price. I've been looking for a sub $500 setup that had everything I needed to get started. I've added a few extras like a 7" monitor, V-mount battery, matte box and follow focus and I still have room left. As with most rigs, there isn't enough room up front so you need to save space. This rig comes with a handle, half cage, some bars, good quality aluminum bits/screws and a shoulder rest. For less than $500, you can afford to change things up as you grow (handles). My DSLR gear, matte box, focus tracking, 7 inch monitor, V mount battery and 35mm lens weighs around 14 pounds. I have a feeling this setup can handle more weight depending on how you set up your knobs. The knobs are the weakest point in this setup, but get creative with the setup and you'll have a great setup. I would buy this gear again and again and would recommend it to anyone looking for shoulder gear for less than $500. Ask me your questions and I will try to answer them.
