Great for gaming. Even if AMD outperforms it on multi-core workloads, that doesn't mean it's a bad processor. This is a stable reliable processor. And most importantly, it's available. In games, it trades beats with my Ryzen 5800x. So I didn't encounter any bugs or glitches. That's what you get with Intel. Stability. If you're just gaming, I'd say that's not an option. But my wife uses a workstation application and the extra cores save her time. I'd say it's a niche processor and very few will really benefit from the extra cores. If you are just a player go for 11600k. My daughter's build runs on an overclocked 11600k and she trades on that.
