First of all, remember that this is a 100% manual lens. You need to put the camera in "manual" mode as it doesn't have the right pins to work with the auto focus or other automatic settings. This also means that you have to focus manually and set the aperture and shutter speed manually. It's also a cheap lens, so it doesn't feel like a better lens. The light weight also means you can easily bang or wiggle the lens, even when it's on a tripod. Using a remote shutter release is highly recommended. However, if you have some basic camera skills and a little patience, you can take some very good photos with it. Personally, I wanted to take something with me to capture the recent eclipse without spending a million dollars on an autofocus lens of comparable size. Although the photos I end up with are not world class quality I am more than happy with them for the minimal cost and preparation I put into them.
