In 2015 I quickly bought three 4K TVs. I was very lucky to have such advanced TVs with incredibly clear screens. I'm also someone who uses the TV until it either dies or is just no longer useful for today's content. A few months after installing these new TVs in their rooms, the HDCP specs skyrocketed and my TVs couldn't play 4K. copy protected content. I was angry. I ended up in a situation where I had functionally very expensive 1080p TVs that could run 4K if I plugged in a computer and used it as a monitor.
