Great for first time 4K TV users

In 2015 I quickly bought three 4K TVs. I was very lucky to have such advanced TVs with incredibly clear screens. I'm also someone who uses the TV until it either dies or is just no longer useful for today's content. A few months after installing these new TVs in their rooms, the HDCP specs skyrocketed and my TVs couldn't play 4K. copy protected content. I was angry. I ended up in a situation where I had functionally very expensive 1080p TVs that could run 4K if I plugged in a computer and used…

Enables 4k HDCP 2.2 for HDCP 1.4 4k devices

For it to work make sure you have the HEVC codec for Windows 10 installed. It costs $1 in the Microsoft Store. Install the HDCP 2.2 side of this device to your HDCP 2.2 graphics card. Then take the HDCP 1.4 side of this device and mount it in an HDCP 1.4 compliant monitor or TV. For 4k to work you need either the Microsoft Edge browser or the Netflix app. You can press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D while Netflix is running the video to check the output playable resolution. Don't forget to give it buffer…

Fixed (mostly) UHD/Bose bandwidth issue.

This product essentially fixes a design flaw made by Bose in their Soundtouch 520 system. This meant my Samsung UHD player wasn't going through the unit and then through my 4K HDMI on my Visio. So I put it between the player and Bose, and voila, I can watch 2160p movies without having to use a separate 4K channel and optical cable to connect to Bose. Interestingly, when switching between DirecTV and UHD, Visio drops to 1080p when it returns to film. However, restarting Bose fixes everything. I…

  • I vaguely remember

This is exactly what is asked of him. I bought a Seiki SE65UY04 65" 4K UHD LED TV in the Black Friday 2015 sale. It was a fantastic price for a 4K UHD TV. I recently bought a Samsung UBD-K8500 HD Blu-ray player to see the Take advantage of a new 4K TV with 4K movies Unfortunately Seiki TV uses HDCP 1.4 (Hardware Anti-Piracy Encryption/Decryption) while the Samsung K8500 uses the new HDCP 2.2 standard This means that the Blu-ray Player does not perform a "secure handshake" " with the TV and does

Repair for my "new " 4K TV

I read some reviews of this product on several websites and then went to Revain for a straight fit at a good price. My "new" brand TV was listed as HDCP compliant but only with older versions. Of course, all new input devices look for the newer HDCP signal, dropping to 1080 without a converter. I wasn't too happy when my Fire TV told me that 4k content wasn't available with my current output. That's when I started looking for a solution without having to buy a new TV (because I still liked it).

Worked with Sony UHD Player BUT not with LG

First let me tell you about my initial setup. I have a Yamaha 4k receiver with HDCP 2.2 and a Christie FHQ841-T TV. This is a 4k TV (only 30 fps and no HDR) with HDMI 1.4b connections. I also have a LG UBK90 4K player that cannot play 4K due to the TV. When I bought and tried out the Monoprice Blackbird, I plugged the device right in front of the TV. So LG UHD Player, Yamaha Receiver, Blackbird, TV. Unfortunately it ONLY downscales to 1080p when trying to play 4k discs. However, I was able to…

SOLVE my problem with HDCP2.2!

I have a new Samsung QN65Q8DTA TV and a Yamaha RX-A2030 9.1ch receiver that is several years old. So far, the receiver was connected to an old television with an HDMI extender via Cat6. When I upgraded to a 4K TV I had to upgrade to a 4K extender. I was trying to get 4K streaming to work on my TV using Revain Fire TV via HDMI receiver and extender. 1080P worked fine, but if the Fire TV wanted to stream 4K, HDCP 2.2 was required. No luck with the old receiver which was HDCP 1.4. I didn't want to
