These straps are well made and overkill for my intended use, but I'll be ready if I need to secure something heavy. I bought these for use as load securing in my wife's pickup truck which is fitted with a bed chute/cargo chute and ARE truck cover. Snap hooks at each end of each strap solve their recurring problem of the S-hook falling out of the eyebolt in the bed rail before tension can be applied. The 8 foot length is ideal for a cap/topper/shell pickup. It's long enough to secure anything that physically fits in a bed, but there aren't many extra straps when securing small loads. Rhino uses "real" nylon(?) webbing for the straps, not the flimsy kind you see on most sling straps. The seams are also well done, the threads do not need to be burned so that they do not unravel. Although I wasn't aware when I ordered, both the free end and ratchet end of each strap have a clip S-hook. The soft loops are separate pieces made from the same material as the shoulder straps. My wife and I are very happy with these harnesses and S hooks with clips are a must on all harnesses. The problem of detaching the strap only to find that the free end is no longer attached has been solved without the use of carabiners or quick release buckles! This alone is enough to recommend the Rhino straps, the quality of the rest is an added bonus. These are the ratchet straps you wanted but couldn't find.
