This sewing machine feels solid when you use it - even really fast - a smooth purr. I got it for quilts, so cutting the thread and lifting the presser foot is no problem. I had no problems with the needle threader or machine threading - don't know why all the fuss with the other reviewers. There were no problems adjusting the thread tension either. This is a sewing machine; this is how they work. The 1/4" seam allowance foot is definitely NOT included. The included 1/4" quilting foot is designed for free motion quilting. I tried the walking leg and it works great. I look forward to trying quilting on my Juki. It really is a workhorse. For me, that was a lot of money to spend on a sewing machine; I have a feeling it was money well spent.
