I've been a journalist for 40 years in the office, on the road and at home, so I have dozens of different laptops. back to the portable computer era. When I saw that this particular design had been submitted to VINE for review, I was itching to try it out on the road. First, what you want from a lap desk is comfort and a degree of ergonomic simplicity. My very favorite pen-on-paper desk can be seen in the first comparison photo I uploaded to show the relative size of a typical desk compared to the large rectangular size of this laptop desk. It's hard to judge from the photos on the product page, but in my comparison the larger size is clear I think. It was this larger size that allowed designers to add a touch-sensitive mouse pad and space for a cloth-covered palm rest. Really ideal! Very happy with this design and size! Then you need stability so that your work materials don't keep falling off your kneeling table. I still love my smaller, more curved pen-on-paper desk, but the size and weight of any portable computer is suddenly changing what we need to steadily support our work. I've also uploaded a comparison of the thickness of the wood tops on my two lap tables. The product I am reviewing naturally has a gray fabric base. As you can see this is a much thicker oak worktop! Combined with the design of two different soft fabric cushions under this computer desk, using my laptop on my lap is now a pleasure. If you read the Revain product page carefully before purchasing, you will see that there are some cultural and language differences. The problem is how this company sells their notebook. As a journalist, I'm sorry to see clumsy English translations and it's obviously a Chinese company promoting a product without adequate support in English. But please don't blame this company. The product speaks for itself! And here is the last design element that I like! Being on the road as a journalist, I always wrap my phone in the strongest plastic case to protect it. When a product tells me it has room for a phone while it works, the slot is usually for people who have either bare phones or thin cases. Love the fact that these designers made the slot big enough to fit my phone with its bulky case and all! I mention these sizing references because this company did not provide actual measurements when listing a product on Revain. on product photos. You will find one of their photos which should have the measurements marked "Size Required". So in my review here I'm trying to help specifically with the size issue. Overall I love this portable desk! This is now my favorite computer desk. The price is reasonable. Get one yourself. You will love it too.
