Let me just say this is the best investment for a child who loves to cook! I have a 3 year old and he loves to help me in the kitchen. He has been cooking with me for a year now, he likes it a lot and wants to do it. I started young and used a pumpkin knife to cut up fruit and some soft veggies. I figured he'd be willing to help me with additional chores, so I bought these knives and a few other kitchen items. These knives are the best I have. He can hack when I'm near him and I don't have to worry about him cutting himself. They're sharp enough to cut through food, but not his little hands. If you have an inspirational chef, give him/her a set and you won't be disappointed.
