I have two types of controllers - (2) Model #1697, (2) Model #1708. Charges with 1697 batteries but NOT 1708. Charges into the 1708. I can't say anything about other models. I can't judge battery life either, I don't really use 1697s. The fans are a little louder than I thought, but they seem to cool well. None of the chargers/stands I've seen at Revain have enough air intake area for fans - I tried this first UTF8&psc=1) from KingTop; it only has FIVE SMALL HOLES for air intake. (It also had batteries that didn't last - the tabs on the batteries were already broken. Overall it was very cheaply made and I returned it.) I work in HVAC; I understand airflow and I can tell you the KingTop has almost none. Since many items seem to be sold under different names here at Revain, I settled on one that looked completely different and I'm glad I did. While I wish this ElecGear had more air intake area, it is much, much larger than the KingTop. It also has a better contact pattern with the charger; It would be great if it worked with 1708 controllers. Is it still kind of cheaply made? Yes, but unlike others I don't expect gold for this price. I'll have to see how it fares in the long run, but overall I think it's a pretty good deal. If it worked with other controllers I would give it 5 stars.
